General Manager (Forest Grove, OR)

Summary – Oversee all aspects of the operations of the facility

Duties and Responsibilities: (These are not in any hierarchical order)

Ensure that a quality product is available at the correct time in accordance with the harvest plan

  • Execute Sales Plan for the facility
  • Measure actual harvest compared to plan and actual availability on a weekly basis
  • Ensure the proper timings are in the plan for all crops in all seasons
  • Ensure the sales availability is updated on a daily basis
  • Work with Sales Team and Key Account managers to understand customers’ expectations
  • Develop and communicate long list to the sales staff
  • Ensure all tie-offs are clearly marked in the fields
  • Ensure product is released after ad has passed
  • Communicate all issues with any contracts to ads and contracts coordinator
  • Monitor cultural processes on a daily basis
  • Manage all growing protocols to ensure the timely execution of all finish goods
  • Manage site budgeting process and harvest planning
  • Ensure continuous improvement
  • Ensure labor cost objectives are met, improve productivity, efficiency and reduce cost
  • Responsible for maximizing space utilization of the facility to ensure operational efficiency

  • Minimum five years experience in an operations management role
  • Strong business, communication, leadership, planning and organizing, as well as conflict management skills
  • Strong logistics and planning skills
  • Must be able to interact with field operations team and sales team
  • Must be a skilled problem solver and be able to work in an intense environment
  • Budgeting and accounting knowledge
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers and all required software
  • Develop and foster team environment
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Ability to create and design systems to increase overall efficiency. Bring ideas to management and be able to implement changes and improvements effectively
  • Ability to create and deliver performance management messages to subordinates
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and facilitate group meetings
  • Utilization of all safety rules, regulations and equipment. Ensure safe work environment at all times

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervises all operations teams.

Must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; holding regular meetings and complying with safety regulations; housekeeping; measuring and monitoring efficiencies; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
