Merchandise Manager (SW TAP DFW – TX Territory)

Responsibilities:

Build relationships and communicate daily/weekly with store garden department/upper management, Market Management, Regional Merchandise Managers

  • Plan and hold pre-spring kickoff meetings with stores/markets to communicate Train and Assist (TAP) and Modular Guide (Playbook) objectives/programs and review readiness checklist
  • Have weekly communication with MMs to review market dynamics, business trends, store performance
  • Provide timely communication for special events, execution/best practice tips and item level training (product knowledge)

Train and Assist store personnel to drive store sales while increasing sell-through

  • Connect with store associates
  • Ensure store front and entrances are full of fresh, colorful product
  • Train and Assist store associates on best practices for Watering, Merchandising, CVP, Customer Service and Advanced Shipping Notice
  • Assist in merchandising all Live Plant Categories: Trees, Shrubs, Tropical Blooming, House Plants, Annuals, Larger Veggies, Perennials, Mums and Landscape bulbs (potted)
  • Prepare for fresh product deliveries
  • Ensure integrity of Modular (Playbook) Layouts
  • Connect with store associates on follow-through tasks before TAP departure from store

Hire, train and manage seasonal Color Spot service team to execute the TAP service program within Color Spot parameters, budgets and guidelines

  • Coordinate with Color Spot account management and replenishment team
  • Communicate to CSN analyst/replenishment team on store/market mix and volume challenges and opportunities
  • Provide as directed by account management, assistance to/for corporate and store special events
  • Submit store reports and pictures, tips, training, product highlights and general shipping information with non-service suppliers
  • Adhere to all CSN company policies and procedures and account guidelines

Requirements:

  • 4 years experience in Live Goods Retail sales and store relationship
  • Management in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, prioritizing, and follow up and follow through
  • Experience with a highly seasonal business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and self motivated
