Sales Manager (Central Texas Territory)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage entire sales team including Merchandise Managers, and Merchandisers
  • Manage hiring process of sales staff and merchandisers, weekly labor hours to demand and versus budget for assigned territory
  • Plan, promote, and execute sales meetings and weekly calls with sales team
  • Conduct sales meetings to update the sales force on events and to implement sales training efforts
  • Achieve monthly budgeted sales dollars, scrap dollars, and labor dollars
  • Coordinate sales functions with other departments to ensure quality and service
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with the sales team, develop customer relationships
  • Analyze marketing programs and adjust strategies and tactics to increase sales
  • Establish, and foster relationships with customers, vendors, and facilities
  • Promote all approved marketing plans and provide advice and special training to the sales team as needed to assure reaching forecasted sales goals
  • Plan and conduct market research to identify opportunities for increased sales
  • Monitor and evaluate the product and/or services of the competition
  • Analyze historical data, and report market condition
  • Facilitate inbound product flow from all suppliers in their assigned stores
  • Manage the planning and execution of store set and signage
  • Drive consistent merchandising best practices with Merchandise Managers

Requirements:

  • Five years experience in sales in agriculture/nursery environment with an understanding of products, packaging, materials and vendors
  • Bachelors’ degree in business with emphasis in manufacturing, or logistics
  • Five years experience in management in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar system
  • Strong working knowledge of MS applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.)
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, prioritizing, and follow up and follow through
  • Experience with a highly seasonal business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to foster strong relationships
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and self motivated
